Devotion Day 12 | His Way

There are times in our lives that we are praying for things to happen, it can be very discouraging at times.

You begin to wonder if God even hears you.

He does. We have to learn to trust God about His timing and His way.

There is a story out there about a person that is warned that a flood is coming and they need to evacuate.  They choose to stay instead of listening to the warning.  Well, the rain comes and the water rises.  The neighbors knock on the door and say, “the water is coming up the street, you should evacuate with us.” They decline and say “God will truly save if the time comes.”

The water rises to the front door.  A man in a canoe paddles by and yells out, “do you need a ride to dry ground?”  He answers “no, God will truly save if the time comes.”

The water continues to rise and the man moves to the second story of his house.  A guy in a motor boat pulls up and says “let me take you to dry land?” He answers “no, God will truly save if the time comes.”

The waters continue to rise and the man is forced to climb out on to the top of his roof.  A helicopter flies by and asks, “let me take you to dry land?” He responds “no thanks, God will truly save if the time comes.”

Not much later he is praying and calling out to God “why haven’t you saved me”  “what did I do wrong?”  God responded with “I sent a canoe, a motor boat, and a helicopter”  What more do you want?”

The moral to this story is… You may not feel God is answering your prayer correctly and that is not how you planned on it happing.

Psalms 18:33
God’s way is perfect.
All the Lord’s promises prove true.
He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.

God’s word has been proven and His way is perfect.  That being said, He might do things differently than we had planned or what you thought the answer would be. But remember that His way is Perfect.

Take Action

Do not be discouraged by what you see.  Know that God answers your prayers but sometimes His way is some much better.  If you have gotten rid of any prayers because you were not seeing the results that you wanted to see, pick that prayer back up and trust that God has it and it will be revealed in His own time.
